TransOcean’s principals have worked in the emerging markets of Asia and the Middle East since 1987. U.S. and overseas partners hold undergraduate and advanced degrees in business, mathematics, computer science, finance, engineering and geosciences. Partner accomplishments include assisting the largest U.S. private manufacturer of finished aluminum and copper electric power conductors become the first foreign supplier to Japan in the early 1990’s. Another partner co-founded a financial advisory services firm that has evolved into one of the leading financial M&A valuation companies in the United States. TransOcean CEO and managing partner J.M.Cook played a key role as an advisor to a U.S. firm exporting finished goods to China and Southeast Asia. TransOcean principal’s experience in the Middle East began in 1994 with mineral exploration surveys and rural electrification projects in Pakistan and Yemen. Since 2002, TransOcean has focused on rural communications IT and banking. In 2006 and 2007 TransOcean RFID and electronic smartcard solutions were employed in the Dubai International Airport expansion project. As a result, TransOcean emerged as the leading provider of satellite communications and computer network solutions to the leading banks in Iraq. In addition, in 2007 TransOcean established a mineral concession valuation and metal processing technology advisory office in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
